February 29, 2008 - This year will mark the 11th anniversary for the Tampa Bay Rays as opposed to their previous name the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The change occurred on November 8, 2007 in St. Petersburg. Along with the name change, the Rays got new logos, uniforms and team colors consisting of Columbia blue, navy blue and gold.
As the Tampa Bay Rays enter the 2008 Pro Baseball season, the coaching staff and teammates combined look to improve upon their disheartening 2007 season. With Joe Maddon back as manager, his vision and guidance will hopefully bring the Tampa Bay Rays to their first winning record and back home with a World Series title.
Among the sports announcements, the Tampa Bay Rays will play another series at Champion Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex this upcoming season. This is the second year in a row that the Rays will be located at that stadium. The Rays will go up against the Toronto Blue Jays during that particular series. The decision was made through successful voting on January 24, 2008. Both teams have agreed to playing the series.
